The New Orleans Pelicans have plenty of exciting individuals, including Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson. To many, the Pels will still go as far as where the tandem of Ingram and Williamson take them, and based on the team's metrics when those two former Duke Blue Devils are on the floor, it appears that New Orleans should continue playing them together to further the team's success.

“This is the most we played together consistently game to game and so it's getting better and better,” Ingram shared (h/t Andrew Lopez of ESPN). “The communication has picked up, which helps a lot on the floor, off the floor, just talking about the game.”

The Pelicans would have loved both Ingram and Williamson playing consistent minutes together in the past, but the latter's health struggles held him to only 29 games total from the 2021-22 season to the 2022-23 campaign.

“It translated quickly from the first day we did it, and the more we do it, the better we get,” Williamson added. “And honestly, it's just a mental and visual thing.”

“I think just me and BI seeing the spots and what it looked like on the court, I think that visual just helps us on, OK, if I come off the screen, throw it then, or when I set a screen, set it like this, give BI time to get downhill and get to his middy.”

So far in the 2023-24 NBA season, the Pelicans have a 7.2 net rating when both Ingram and Williamson are on the floor — that's the third-best mark among two-man New Orleans lineups with at least 200 minutes played.
