Detroit Pistons All-Star big man Andre Drummond says he's already worked out with point guard Derrick Rose, who signed a two-year deal with the Pistons in free agency.

Drummond says Rose “looked great” in the workout session.

This past season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Derrick Rose averaged 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. The Chicago native and former MVP shot 48.2 percent from the field, 37.0 percent from beyond the arc, 85.6 percent from the free-throw line and scored a career-high 50 points on Halloween against the Utah Jazz.

Rose will likely back up Reggie Jackson at the point guard spot unless the Pistons trade Jackson, who is in the final year of his contract. Jackson put up 15.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 2018-19.

DRose is the definition of a walking bucket. With the Timberwolves this past season, Rose became the first NBA player since 1983 to score at least 917 points in fewer than 1,400 minutes. The 30-year-old only played in 51 games, though. Injuries are the only concern when it comes to Rose. When he's on the court, he's always been productive.

Andre Drummond figures to get a lot of easy baskets at the rim in 2019-20 in pick-and-roll situations with Rose. Drummond averaged 17.3 points, 15.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists this past season while shooting 53.3 percent from the floor. Rose's ability to get to the rim at will and collapse defenses will free Drummond and Pistons star Blake Griffin for wide-open looks.
