Blake Griffin’s rating in NBA 2K19 is finally out, and depending on which fence you are on, Detroit Piston’s big man grade may be a little disputable.

Griffin’s stock has slid down a bit after a topsy-turvy 2017-18 NBA season, so his NBA 2K19 ratings understandably took a bit of a stumble. That said, it’s still right inside the ballpark of his ratings for last year’s NBA 2K18, wherein he was handed a grade of 87, the third best among all forwards in that version of the game – just behind Anthony Davis’ 94 and Draymond Green’ 88.

Griffin is looking to rebound after putting up 19.8 points per game last season, which was his lowest since he mustered 18.0 per contest way back during his third year in the league. Now entering his ninth season in the league, the 29-year-old high-flyer is looking to prove that his underperformance last year was largely just an effect of the distraction caused by his uncertain future with the L.A. Clippers. After playing his first eight seasons with the Clippers, Griffin was traded along with Brice Johnson and Willie Reed for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic, and a pair of draft picks to Detroit last January.

With the Pistons set to begin its first season under the watch of new head coach and reigning Coach of the Year Dwane Casey, Blake Griffin is hoping that at the end of the 2018-19 campaign, he’ll have already surpassed the expectations of him by both the virtual and real worlds.
