Josh Jacobs has been dealing with a shoulder issue for a decent portion of the season, but that apparently wasn't the only injury hindering him. According to his Instagram, Jacobs had the “fastest foot surgery ever.”

The rookie running back ended up posting videos to his Instagram that showed him wearing a hospital gown. On the other hand, he also was seen with a bandage on his lower leg and said that “surgery went great fastest surgery ever.”

It remains to be seen or known what the surgery was for. But considering that he underwent surgery just four days before Sunday, it's unlikely that he suits up in Week 17 versus the Denver Broncos.

Earlier this season, it was discovered that Jacobs was playing through a fractured shoulder. Despite the pain he was playing with, Jacobs continued to start for the Raiders at running back.

Then, in Week 14, Jacobs would miss the first game of his NFL career due to the shoulder ailment. The first-year running back would also be ruled out for Oakland's Week 16 bout with the Los Angeles Chargers.

In the event that Jacobs is out in Week 17, he had a spectacular rookie campaign with the Raiders. The 24th overall pick out of Alabama has supplied Oakland with 1,150 rushing yards (eighth in the NFL) and seven rushing touchdowns.

Even with the Raiders being 7-8, they have a legitimate chance of making the playoffs. Along with a win, Oakland needs losses from the Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Indianapolis Colts in Week 17.

With that being said, there's a chance that Jacobs could return in time for the postseason. Even if he doesn't, Jacobs provided optimism for the fans as the team moves to Las Vegas in 2020.
