The Oakland Raiders headed into Week 4's matchup against the division rival Denver Broncos hoping to bounce back from a loss to the Washington Redskins.

Unfortunately, the Broncos proved to be too much to handle on Sunday and Oakland may have suffered a devastating injury to star quarterback, Derek Carr. The franchise quarterback went down with a back injury late in the game, via Conor Orr of NFL.com.

Quarterback Derek Carr exited the game with a little more than two minutes remaining in the third quarter. Former Bills first-round pick E.J. Manuel is the team's No. 2 quarterback.

Ultimately, Manuel did well after replacing Carr under center. The backup quarterback had the team in position to win the game in the closing moments in the fourth quarterback but threw an interception which ended any hope of a comeback.

With the Raiders coaching staff will now hold their breath as they wait to hear how severe Carr's back injury is and whether he'll miss time moving forward.

The Raiders will head back to Oakland for a three-game homestand. Oakland will host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5 followed by the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs. Although Manuel played better than expected in Week 4, the team will hope to have their Pro Bowl quarterback under center next week to avoid falling below .500.
