Gerald McCoy was hoping to get a fresh start with the Las Vegas Raiders after he missed all of the 2020 season with an injury. After just one game in 2021, McCoy was hit once again with a devastating season-ending injury.

On Friday, McCoy spoke out on the first time since the news of his season ending with the Raiders.

“Thank you God for it all. Can’t only praise or thank God when things go our way. That same God who was there when things went great is here when things aren’t. Blessings to everybody!!”

McCoy is in his age-33 season and was hoping for a rebound year with the Raiders so he could get another contract at the end of the 2021 year. Now what his future holds in terms of playing in the NFL is anyone's guess.

McCoy had been super durable throughout his entire career before these last two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and now the Raiders. Before the 2020 season, McCoy had played and started in at least 13 games in all but one season. He spent the first 9 years of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before spending one season with the Carolina Panthers.

It's a big loss for the Raiders up front on their defensive line and they will look to have numerous players fill the void now that McCoy will be gone for the rest of the season.
