The Oakland Raiders have turned to a familiar face as they look to make another potential addition to their defense. They brought in former second-round pick Lamarr Houston in for a workout on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Houston spent his first four years in the league with the Raiders. He played 64 out of a possible 64 games (60 starts) in those four years for the Raiders, recording 16.5 sacks, 227 total tackles, four fumbles forced, six fumble recoveries, and an interception.

Houston left in 2014 as he signed a big free-agent deal with the Chicago Bears. However, he had an injury-hit stint in Chicago. He suffered a torn ACL in his first year with the team, limiting him to just eight games. He bounced back in 2015, racking up a career-high 8.0 sacks while playing all 16 games. Unfortunately, he once again tore an ACL just two games into the 2016 season and was out for the remainder of the year.

Houston was cut by the Bears before the start of the 2017 season and signed on with the Houston Texans. But after just five games into his spell with the Texans, he was once again released. He was eventually claimed off waivers by the Bears and racked up four sacks in five games.

The Raiders had previously brought in veteran linebacker Junior Galette for a visit a couple weeks ago as they look to add more help in the pass rush for Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin. Outside of Mack (10.5 sacks) and Irvin, Mario Edwards Jr. had the next-most sacks on the team last season with 3.5.
