The Las Vegas Raiders' tumultuous season came to an end on Saturday night in a playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Their elimination from the playoffs is officially the end of an era in Las Vegas, as former head coach Jon Gruden was let go earlier in the season and the team officially announced on Monday that general manager Mike Mayock was fired, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The news of Mike Mayock's firing by the Raiders comes just as the team had announced they would be conducting interviews for both the head coach and general manager positions earlier Monday.

Per Schefter, head coach Rick Bisaccia is still employed by the team as of now, though the Raiders have reportedly submitted at least one head coaching interview.

Mayock spent three seasons in Las Vegas, compiling a 25-24 record while overseeing drafts that secured the Raiders top playmakers, such as running back Josh Jacobs and wide receiver Hunter Renfrow, as well as contributors on the defensive side of the ball, such as Maxx Crosby and Clelin Ferrell. He also had several solid free agency moves during his time in Las Vegas.

However, Mayock's tenure ended on a sour note, as two of his first-round draft selections, Henry Ruggs III and Damon Arnette, came into the public eye for some very ill-advised choices they made.

The Raiders will now turn their attention towards a cast of appealing GM candidates after the announcement that Mike Mayock has been fired.
