The Las Vegas Raiders are moving on from Henry Ruggs III. The team announced the news following the wide receiver's involvement in a fatal car accident while driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Raiders released the news via their official Twitter page.

Ruggs and his female passenger were riding a Chevrolet Corvette miles away from the Las Vegas strip in the wee hours of the morning when they crashed into the rear of a Toyota Rav4 while going at high speed. The Rav4 burst into flames, taking the life of the 23-year-old woman and her dog trapped inside. Both Ruggs and his passenger were also rushed to the hospital, but managed to escape any life-threatening injuries.

The former Raiders WR is being charged with DUI resulting in death.

The Raiders also released a statement on the matter shortly before they announced the release of Henry Ruggs from their active roster.

“The Raiders are aware of an accident involving Henry Ruggs III that occurred this morning in Las Vegas. We are devastated by the loss of life and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim's family. We are in the process of gathering information and will have no further comment at this time,”

This looks like the end of Ruggs' once promising career with the Raiders. Our prayers go out to the family of the woman involved in the tragedy.
