The curtains have started closing for the Las Vegas Raiders' NFL Playoffs hopes. But, this does not mean that their season completely ended in despair. Maxx Crosby and the rest of the squad have been actively lobbying for Antonio Pierce to get the head coaching job. This plea comes from a point of wanting continuity. These hopes may come to life but it is Mark Davis that gets the final say. He unveiled his feelings on the possible upgrade for the interim coach, via Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.

“I have to go through the process of interviews, setting up interviews, and then letting you know what we're doing,” Mark Davis said about the Raiders' head coaching position.

It seems like they are not rushing to get a new coach. There are a lot of names that have been surfacing in discussions to compete with Antonio Pierce. The most notable of which is Jim Harbaugh. But, unlike these other candidates, they do not have the full trust of the Raiders' ensemble yet.

Much like Maxx Crosby, Davis knows how much effort Pierce put in for the Raiders to succeed, I think the team really played well down the stretch and I think going 4-2 in the division is really a positive for us. Obviously, that's what we have to take care of first is the division. And we went into Kansas City, in a tough game, and beat them. We took care of Denver here at home to end the season.”

There will be a lot of buzz for the Raiders' head coaching position as the NFL Playoffs and offseason loom.
