Earlier this NFL offseason, there were some rumblings around the league that Oakland Raiders veteran wide receiver Martavis Bryant could be facing another possible suspension.

However, that chatter quickly died down as there wasn't much coming in the way of details as to why that possibly was manifesting. According to Tom Pelissero of The NFL Network, Bryant has voiced that he still hasn't heard anything from the NFL about it and expects to be training camp on Friday.

There have yet to be any reports of a failed test as he has stayed on track since returning from the one-year ban that cost him his entire 2016 campaign for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Bryant doesn't appear to have any concern about the whole matter with his focus centered on what he can do to contribute to his new team.

The Raiders are counting on him to be a significant part in the offensive game plan in the passing game as likely the third receiving option behind former Pro Bowlers Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson. He's coming off a productive season hauling in 50 catches on 84 targets for 603 receiving yards with three touchdowns. This included posting six games with at least four catches while topping 60 receiving yards on three occasions. Through his first three years in the league, he recorded more than 500 receiving yards in each year while hauling 17 total touchdowns during that stretch.

Beyond fitting in with the Raiders, this is a huge season for Bryant as he's in the final year of his deal that has him set to enter the free agent market next March. His play and behavior will be indicative of the type of contract he will receive on the open market next offseason it will be his first contract outside of his four-year, $2.6 million rookie deal.
