The Oakland Raiders have continued to trek through a disappointing 2018 campaign that has seen plenty of issues arise on both sides of the ball.

Among those has been the inconsistent play at the wide receiver position that has taken another blow with veteran wideout Martavis Bryant being placed on season-ending IR due to a PCL injury, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Bryant wasn't able to produce as hoped this season with just 19 catches on 27 targets for 266 receiving yards and zero touchdowns along with three rushes for 23 yards. He has recorded fewer than 50 receiving yards all but twice this season while failing to notch more than 100 receiving yards in any game.

The Raiders were hoping that his playmaking ability as a deep-ball threat could help him find a consistent role in the passing game. However, he has been plagued with struggling to pick up the playbook while he hadn't moved past being anything more than a role player in the offense. What also hasn't helped is that Oakland has been operating in an offense that hasn't consistently given Derek Carr the opportunity to test opposing defenses down the field with deep throws, rather focusing on short-to-intermediate passes.

This injury designation could mark the end of his only campaign with the franchise as the team's struggles on the field and uncertainty don't present a clear plan ahead.

Bryant is set to hit the free agent market for the first time in his career next offseason where he could attract plenty of attention on the open market. In the meantime, his 2018 campaign has come to a disappointing premature close
