It's been a rough week for the Las Vegas Raiders after news broke surrounding Henry Ruggs III's deadly car crash. The young receiver was reported driving over 150 MPH, colliding with another car, and killing a 23-year old woman. Interim head coach Rich Bisaccia has finally broken his silence on the matter.
According to Paul Gutierrez, Bisaccia offers his “sincere condolences to the victims of the family.” He proceeds to go on with a message from the horrific accident.

"…saddened for everyone affected. Especially, the victim’s family. That being said, we love Henry Ruggs, and want him to know that. It was a terrible lapse in judgement, of the most horrific kind. It’s something that he’ll have to live with the rest of his life…(more)

It's a tough situation all-around. A young woman's life was unrightfully taken away all because Henry Ruggs decided to drive under the influence. On the other hand, a young man must live with the consequences of taking another person's life from his mistake.
Ruggs has already been released by the Las Vegas Raiders and is on bail for $150,000. He currently faces 2 to 20 years in prison for his actions. We'll see how it plays out, as professional athletes tend to receive some sort of favoritism in serious issues.
Even so, it appears the Raiders have a foregone conclusion on Ruggs' future. Rich Bisaccia and the front office released Henry Ruggs relatively quickly, making it seem as though his chances of receiving minimal punishments are low.
For now, Bisaccia seems to be making the right statements on the issue at hand. There isn't much else the Raiders can do, as they've released Henry Ruggs from the team. We'll see if they reach out to the family at all as a way to offer their condolences.
