The Las Vegas Raiders acquired young cornerback Rock Ya-Sin in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday, sending Yannick Ngakoue the other way in a player-for-player swap. Ya-Sin revealed his reaction to the trade, and he didn't hold back with some critical comments on his former team. Via Vic Tafur, Ya-Sin said the Colts “stepped off the gas” during their late-season collapse in 2021, before declaring “that won't happen in Las Vegas.”

Ya-Sin said he was surprised by the trade, but felt more excited about the new opportunity than he was shocked to be leaving the Colts. Clearly, the young DB was unhappy with how things ended last season in Indy, and he's determined to avoid another embarrassing meltdown like that in Las Vegas. The Colts infamously lost their final two games of the 2021 regular season, going from near locks for a playoff spot to missing out altogether and finishing the year 9-8.

Ya-Sin only started 16 games for the Colts over the past two seasons, despite having played well when on the field. In 2021, the 25-year-old didn't record an interception but had eight pass defenses, 31 tackles, and a forced fumble. The former second-round pick has two interceptions in his NFL career, having featured in 41 games.

He'll join a Raiders team in need of a boost in the secondary, and can hopefully become a key contributor in Las Vegas. His comments sure suggest he's fired up over the change in scenery, as he didn't mince words when blasting the Colts when reacting to his trade.
