Good news for the Las Vegas Raiders: Trent Brown is off the team's reserve/COVID-19 list, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Raiders' star left tackle had been on the list for several weeks, as he hasn't suited up for a game since Week 5.

ESPN's Paul Gutierrez reported on Wednesday that Brown had been taken off the list and began practicing with the team again, but never intended on facing the New York Jets in Week 13. It's unclear if Gutierrez or Rapoport is more accurate as to when exactly Brown was activated, but it sounds like he's on track to play in Week 14 for the Raiders.

As Rapoport notes, the Raiders will release defensive tackle Daniel Ross and place him on the practice squad to make room for Brown.

Brown signed a four-year, $66 million contract with the Raiders in 2019. He has appeared in just two games this season, and has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list twice. He was supposed to be activated for the Raiders' Nov. 11 matchup with the Cleveland Browns, but a pregame incident with an IV has kept him out until now.

The Raiders narrowly averted disaster on Sunday, as they needed a fireable Gregg Williams blitz call in a Hail Mary situation to beat the winless New York Jets on the final play of the game, 31-28.

A loss at MetLife Stadium would have dropped Las Vegas to 6-6 and on the outskirts of the AFC playoff picture. At 7-5, the Raiders sit in the No. 8 spot in the AFC, one game behind the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins.

Fortunately, the Silver and Black will get their talented tackle back in time for a crucial showdown against Indianapolis on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium. The Las Vegas offense needs a revival after a period of prolonged stagnation. Trent Brown could be the piece which enables Jon Gruden and Derek Carr to regain their winning edge.
