The Antonio Brown helmet saga finally appears to be coming to an end.

According to Pro Football Talk, Brown is close to choosing a new helmet, a helmet that will be a custom-made model and will come with an endorsement deal.

Brown has been embattled with the NFL over the usage of his headgear, which is now banned by the league as a result of no longer being certified by the NOCSAE.

The 31-year-old, who apparently threatened to step away from the game if he was not allowed to wear his helmet, then filed a grievance against the NFL and lost.

Brown then took to Twitter afterward to say he would soon be re-joining his Oakland Raiders teammates in training camp before ultimately filing another grievance against the league.

It has been a tumultuous offseason for the wide receiver, to say the least.

Brown got things started by demanding a trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Steelers proceeded to honor his request by sending him to the Raiders for a third-round draft pick and a fifth-rounder.

He participated in Oakland's offseason workouts and showed up to training camp on time late last month, arriving via hot air balloon. However, he was immediately placed on the non-football injury list. He was removed from the list less than 48 hours later and partially practiced with the club, but was then sidelined yet again.

It was initially thought that Brown's absence was due to him sustaining frostbite on his feet after spending time in a cryotherapy chamber without wearing the proper footwear, but his helmet issue also proved to be another reason for his lack of participation.
