The Los Angeles Rams have got to be excited with the recent news that cornerback Aqib Talib will be ready to make his return in the very near future.

According to Rams Insider Myles Simmons, Talib will be back at practice this week.

“Los Angeles officially designated cornerback Aqib Talib to return from injured reserve on Monday. The five-time Pro Bowler will return to practice this week, with the Rams coming off their bye.”

The Rams' plans this offseason to have a Pro-Bowl cornerback tandem of Talib and Marcus Peters has not exactly gone the way Los Angeles had hoped for considering Talib's lengthy absence. However, Talib will instantly bring a much-needed boost to a Rams defense that hasn't exactly exceeded expectations at times this season despite the level of talent.

Talib was designated as a team captain by his teammates and his presence is obvious on and off the field as talented and experienced veteran. Talib is a five-time Pro Bowler and has made one All-Pro team in his 11-year career back in 2016 with the Denver Broncos. Talib has 34 career interceptions and 120 passes defended which is surprising considering most opposing quarterbacks don't often try throwing it Talib's way.

The Rams will look to continue their incredible run, and Talib will surely help the defense seeing as they surrendered 51 points to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs last Monday night in an absolute shootout. Talib is certainly chomping at the bit considering he has been sidelined since out since Week 3. No promise Talib plays in Week 13, but he's getting closer to his anticipated return.
