The wife of Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald took shots at the sloppy officiating in Week 7. Erica Donald shared her thoughts on the officiating after the Rams lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 24-17  in Week 7.

“Refs need to be fined for poor play calls. This is getting out of hand. Maybe if they start having consequences they'll officiate better…about every game I've seen this season has had at least 1 horrible call. In some cases it's changed the trajectory of the game,” Erica Donald tweeted on Monday.

The Rams' controversial loss to the Steelers in Week 7

Controversy marred the Rams' loss to the Steelers in Week 7. The Rams still had a chance to tie the game if Pittsburgh turned the ball over on downs. To their dismay, the officials ruled Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett picked up the first down on a quarterback sneak on the Rams' 38-yard line. Television replays showed Pickett was short of the first down. The Steelers eventually milked the clock and dealt the Rams their fourth loss of the season.

Unfortunately, Rams head coach Sean McVay couldn't throw the challenge flag since he was out of timeouts. The fourth-down play also happened outside the window eligible for a booth review. Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw eventually had some nice words to say about Pickett after the game.

Nevertheless, McVay refused to mope. He felt the Rams never should've put themselves in the position in the first place. Los Angeles had a 17-10 lead entering the third quarter. The Rams gave up two rushing touchdowns to the Steelers in the fourth quarter.

Erica Donald wasn't the only one who harshly criticized the officiating in Week 7. Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner also chimed in on the issue amid several controversial calls this past weekend.

For now, Aaron Donald and the Rams should put the loss behind them. They will go against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8.
