Jalen Ramsey appears to have been just as surprised as the rest of us upon the discovery that he had tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be taking the field Monday night against the Arizona Cardinals. The Los Angeles Rams' star cornerback took to Twitter to air his grievances over the positive test and assure Rams nation that he's just as bummed as they are regarding his absence.

Ramsey said he's feeling fine, suggesting the two-time All-Pro cornerback is asymptomatic. Still, his positive test just hours before kickoff wouldn't enable him to suit up even if he were to return multiple negative tests between now and game time, as there's simply not enough time to clear him.

Ramsey, along with Tyler Higbee, Darrell Henderson Jr., Rob Havenstein, and Dont'e Dayton, were all placed on the COVID/reserve list ahead of L.A.'s Monday Night Football matchup with the Cardinals. The loss of multiple key players will be a significant blow for the Rams ahead of what is a crucial showdown against the division-leading Cardinals. Ramsey is well aware of the importance of the Week 14 battle and knows how impactful his absence can be on the Rams defense.

Considering Los Angeles surrendered 37 points with Ramsey on the field in their Week 4 clash with the Cardinals, fans should be concerned about the performance of the defense without its most important member of the secondary. On the season, Ramsey has three interceptions to go with 11 pass defenses, 59 tackles, and eight tackles for loss. In his absence, David Long Jr. and Grant Haley are expected to play an increased role on Monday night.
