Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman have something in common: they both started in a Super Bowl after losing each of his first 7 starts.

While being mentioned in the same sentence as Troy Aikman is impressive, even for a first-round NFL draft pick, that doesn't mean that he'll be able to necessarily get the same results today in the Super Bowl. The Seattle Seahawks can attest to that.

Although, to be fair, the Patriots have more than enough detractors that more people than not are cheering for the Rams to take it home.

According to Slate, Goff has to have a trait that few, if any, quarterbacks have had in the past: a sense of humor. The outlet reports that the only teams that were able to dominate over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots were the ones whose QBs had a “goofy” personality.

“There is a simpler method to defeat Brady and the Patriots, though, and it has been proven in three separate Super Bowls. While those Giants had a ferocious front four, they also had Eli Manning—as did New York’s Championship team in 2012. Last year’s Philadelphia Eagles, meanwhile, were led by Nick Foles. In every Super Bowl that Brady has lost, his opponents all had one thing in common: a charmingly goofy quarterback.”

Whether he's goofy enough to win against Tom Brady or not, the fact is, Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams are set to face off against the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
