The Los Angeles Rams have been pretty busy over the last couple of weeks.

First, they traded cornerback Marcus Peters to the Baltimore Ravens. They then acquired fellow corner Jalen Ramsey in a blockbuster deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Well, just ahead of the 4 p.m. ET NFL trade deadline on Tuesday, the Rams made a trade involving another cornerback, sending Aqib Talib to the Miami Dolphins.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Los Angeles made the move in order to free up enough money to re-sign Ramsey, whose current contract expires at the end of 2020.

It is not known exactly what the Rams have received in return, with Schefter only saying that LA received a future pick from Miami. The Rams also included a fifth-rounder in the deal, so this is obviously just a salary dump on their part.

For the Dolphins, they are getting an injured player in Talib who is on an expiring deal, so this is basically just Miami's way of landing another draft choice, even if it is just a fifth-round pick.

Talib played in five games this season before hitting the injured reserve list due to a rib injury, logging 14 tackles while he was on the field.

The 33-year-old arrived in Los Angeles via trade with the Denver Broncos in March 2018 but spent most of his time on injured reserve, as he played in just eight contests during his first season with the Rams.

A five-time Pro Bowler, Talib will be joining his fifth team since entering the NFL in 2008.
