Marcus Peters was acquired by the Los Angeles Rams from the Kansas City Chiefs last offseason in a move to help them contend for a Super Bowl. That move paid off for the franchise, as they were able to make it to the NFL's biggest stage. Unfortunately, the team fell completely flat against the New England Patriots and ended up losing by a final score of 13-3.

Now, the Rams will have some decisions to make. Peters is in line for a new contract in the near future, but the cornerback is not focusing on that at this point in time.

In a report shared by Pro Football Talk, it was made clear that Peters is focused on winning the Super Bowl, not getting a new deal done.

Peters also shared that sentiment in a recent quote.

“I want to get to the Super Bowl and win it this time, that’s what I want to break, really. All of the rest of the stuff will take care of itself.”

That quote shows a lot of maturity from a guy that many talk about in the opposite way. Peters is an extreme competitor, which has shown throughout his career. If he can continue channeling that competitiveness and focusing on football things, he has a very bright future ahead of him.

Last season with the Rams, Peters ended up playing in all 16 regular season games. He racked up 43 total tackles to go along with three interceptions, a defensive touchdown, and eight defended passes. Those numbers show just how valuable he can be for the Rams.

Los Angeles may not have to get a deal done immediately, but they should look to lock Peters up and keep him around as a playmaker in the secondary long-term.
