The Los Angeles Rams are out to a blazing start to the 2018 season ,sweeping through the first month of action to put them atop the NFC West ahead of their Week 5 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Los Angeles is in line to get a boost to their defensive front seven with linebacker Mark Barron expected to make his return to the field on Sunday afternoon.

Per Myles Simmons of Rams' official team site:

Barron has been working his way back from an Achilles injury that forced him to miss most of the offseason workouts along with the entire preseason. His presence back in the lineup could be huge, as the linebacking corps are LA's most inexperienced position on the team. Barron could step in to lead the charge with that group. That said, offseason addition Ramik Wilson has provided solid play in his absence while Corey Littleton has stepped up as a huge factor.

The Rams will likely work to bring Barron along on a limited basis on Sunday given that he has been out of action for a significant amount of time. The team doesn't want him to suffer any setbacks that put him out of the mix for an extended period of time. Los Angeles is already without cornerback Aqib Talib and defensive tackle Dominique Easley on that side of the ball so far this season.

During his tenure with the Rams, Barron has become a key part of their defense, making the smooth transition from safety over to outside linebacker. He has become a critical part of their defense, but injuries have plagued him a bit over the last couple of seasons. If he's able to remain relatively healthy for the rest of the year, he could play a big role in helping them contend for more than just a playoff spot and an NFC West division title.
