We've all been there. Everyone has said something they would like to take back almost immediately. It might have taken Kelly Stafford a minute or two, but she is now regretting revealing comments she made regarding her husband, quarterback Matthew Stafford, and the Los Angeles Rams locker room.

The Super Bowl 56 champion's wife was surprisingly open about Stafford's alleged feelings about his youthful teammates, saying that he is finding it difficult to connect with them and was a little uncomfortable with being called “sir.” Naturally, the remarks instantly snowballed into a story, despite head coach Sean McVay downplaying it.

Kelly Stafford has been in this life for well over a decade now, meeting at their alma mater Georgia while she was a cheerleader there, so one would have expected her to be a little less forthcoming about workplace details. Needless to say, Kelly eventually realized her public blunder.

“That's probably the worst thing I’ve done when it comes to him (Matthew),” the podcast host told Christy McDonald on Friday's upcoming edition of A Conversation With, via ClickOnDetroit. “I spoke on a topic that I think, it’s relatable, to the fact that it’s hard to relate to someone who is ten years younger than you. And I do think that’s entirely true. But I’m not in an NFL locker room, I’m not spending every day with these teammates….I put my foot in my mouth pretty good last week.”

While she deserves credit for owning up to the loose-lips moment, Matthew Stafford is probably going to want to know what his wife plans to discuss on her podcast, The Morning After with Kelly Stafford, for the next week or two. It should be noted that the former Pro Bowler found himself in his own bit of controversy last year, and Kelly stood by him.

Hopefully, the couple and the Rams can swiftly move past this whole thing. LA opens its 2023-24 NFL season in a road matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Sept. 10. Inevitably, fans will be on high alert for any on-field chemistry issues.
