It's been a rough go for the Los Angeles Rams in their last two games. First, they played awful against the Tennessee Titans and then looked even worse against the San Francisco 49ers. Apparently, LA was doing so poorly, Matthew Stafford's wife, Kelly, threw a pretzel at a fan during the game.
According to TMZ, Kelly Stafford threw a pretzel at a 49ers fan during the Rams game. “The LA quarterback's significant other was in the stands during the Rams' Monday Night Football game in Santa Clara, when a fan behind her started trash talking.”
“According to one witness, Kelly snapped … kicking off an altercation by hurling a soft pretzel at the man.”
Kelly Stafford has issued an apology since the Rams-49ers game, claiming it was a “weak moment” and is “embarrassed by her actions,” per TMZ.
As stated previously, it's been tough for the Rams recently and Kelly's actions show the frustrations Los Angeles is potentially going through. According to TMZ, they've reached out to the Santa Clara Police Department, Levi's Stadium Security, and Matthew Stafford's agent to receive more information. The SCPD claimed “they were not aware of any such incident,” while Levi's Stadium Security and Stafford's agent were unavailable.
We'll see how the Rams bounce back. They're officially in their bye week right now, giving them a much-needed break from the season. However, they will be taking on the Green Bay Packers in Week 12 on November 28th.
This is an opportunity for Los Angeles to regroup and refocus. They'll need to be at their best when they face off against the Packers.
