As the Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay Packers prepare to face off against each other in the NFL's Game of the Week on Sunday afternoon, there is one storyline not being discussed very much. That storyline would be how Rams' veteran cornerback Sam Shields is getting ready to play his first game against his former team.

In an interview with the Orange County Register via Pro Football Talk, Shields talked about how excited he is to face his former team for the first time.

“I miss those guys. I can’t wait. It’s going to be great to see them, and I love them and all that, but when game time comes, it’s definitely going to be that. I’m going to be excited.”

Shields was the Packers top cornerback for quite a few years before going down with too many concussions. Green Bay decided to move on from him, but Shields did not give up his goal of returning to the NFL. Los Angeles decided to give him a chance and he has made them happy with their decision.

In the seven games that he has played as a depth defensive back, Shields has recorded 12 tackles to go along with an interception and four defended passes. During his years with the Packers, Shields racked up 18 interceptions and was known as a big-time playmaker.

Green Bay is viewed as a major underdog this week. Los Angeles is the only undefeated team left in the NFL and no one expects the Packers to hand them their first loss.

ClutchPoints has also listed some bold predictions from the Packers' side of things.

All of that being said, Aaron Rodgers and company have their work cut out for them. Los Angeles may be favored in a big way, but the Packers can never be counted out with the best quarterback in the league under center.
