The face covering of Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was one of the biggest talking points of Thursday's season opener, and Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay took notice.

Asked about his preferred face covering heading into the season, McVay took the chance to talk about Reid's unique approach with the use of face shield.

“I’ll probably stick with the mask. But Coach Reid is one of the few that can pull off whatever it is, man. He’s the man.” the Rams coach said, per Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.

With Andy Reid's face shield being covered with fog due to his breathing and his mustache giving it a funny effect, it was undoubtedly a fitting way to start off the most unique season the NFL has ever seen.

All personnel are required to wear masks while on the sidelines, and it looks like Reid's unique look has set the bar for masks. Who will be next? What will be next? The battle for the best and most interesting face covering is underway, but it would appear as though Sean McVay is dropping out early and is going simple.

That's not to say though that the Rams tactician, whose coaching style is one of the most unique and innovative in the league, will not try to make his mask memorable.

The Chiefs won the season opener 34-20 over the Houston Texans Thursday night. They will face the Los Angeles Chargers in the brand new SoFi Stadium in Week Two.
