Since Sean McVay took the job as the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams, he's also been the play-caller. Ahead of Saturday's game versus the San Francisco 49ers, McVay gave an interesting response on whether he'd give up the play-calling duties.

Before the Rams brought McVay in, it was known that he was going to assume the role of calling plays. As a result, he was able to lead Los Angeles to their first playoff berth since 2004 in his first year with the franchise.

In his second season at the helm, McVay turned the Rams into one of the most lethal offenses in the NFL. Los Angeles ended up making the Super Bowl, and McVay's knowledge of offense was being credited for the success.

But in the Super Bowl, the Rams were held to only three points by the New England Patriots. Ever since then, many have questioned whether or not McVay's offensive schemes have been figured out by opposing teams.

This year, the Rams have gone 8-6 and are their hopes of making the playoffs are in doubt. The offense has been inconsistent and was recently held in check by the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15.

Therefore, the murmurs that someone else could call plays for the Rams have gotten louder. Despite the outside noise, the young and successful head coach doesn't seem prepared to hand over the play-calling duties just yet.

At the same time, McVay didn't rule out having someone else call plays in the future. Depending on how the Rams finish the season, Los Angeles could consider adding someone to the coaching staff to aid McVay in calling plays in 2020.
