The Los Angeles Rams awarded Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley with a lucrative four-year extension that can be worth up to $60 million with $45 million guaranteed that has given him the biggest contract for a player at his position.

It didn't take long for Gurley to show what has helped him earn that deal as he immediately went to the gym to get in various workouts to help him continue to play at a high level as shown through videos on social media by his trainer (h/t TMZ Sports).

There doesn't appear to be any settling from Gurley after his lucrative deal that is a well-deserved contract after what he has shown through his first three years in the league. He is coming off his a highly productive year that saw him earn the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award. He even garnered some consideration for the MVP award after he led the league with 2,093 scrimmage yards and 19 total touchdowns.

Gurley also became just the third player in league history to have at least 2,000 scrimmage yards, 10 rushing touchdowns, and more than five touchdowns receptions in a single season, joining Hall of Famers Marshall Faulk and O.J. Simpson.

The 23-year-old not only has the special talent on the field but also the strong work ethic to back it up that has helped him become one of the league's top running backs. This is likely a major reason why the Rams felt confident giving him a new lucrative deal that keeps him under contract through the next six years while being the centerpiece of their offensive game plan.

It should set up what will likely be another highly productive season from Gurley as the Rams look to take the next step forward in the progression in becoming a legitimate Super Bowl contender in 2018.
