The Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday morning announced that the team has agreed to terms on a record-setting four-year extension worth up to $60 million with star running back Todd Gurley.

The 23-year-old has finally reacted via social media to the new lucrative deal that will keep him in Los Angeles for the next six seasons by voicing his excitement about what may lie ahead of the franchise.

The Rams have put in place one of the best running backs in the league that will continue to be the centerpiece of the offensive game plan, especially after putting together a stellar 2017 campaign that helped him earn the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award. It was the most productive season of his brief NFL career that saw him lead the league with 2,093 scrimmage yards and 19 total touchdowns that put him in serious consideration for the MVP award. Gurley also became just the third player in league history to have at least 2,000 scrimmage yards, 10 rushing touchdowns, and more than five touchdowns receptions in a single season, joining Hall of Famers Marshall Faulk and O.J. Simpson.

Gurley has continued to develop into an all-around talent that has seen him become a much more effective factor in the passing game after posting career highs with 64 catches for 788 receiving yards and six touchdowns. This added dynamic to his game has put him squarely in the conversation of the best running backs in the game alongside Le'Veon Bell, David Johnson, Kareem Hunt, LeSean McCoy, and Ezekiel Elliott.

He has a bright future ahead that could see him rack up many more numerous individuals honors while pushing the Rams to compete for a Super Bowl. It is simply a well-deserved extension that has in place to lead the charge in Los Angeles offensively for the next several years.
