Offensive linemen in the NFL constantly have to remain in peak shape at their position and D.J. Fluker of the Baltimore Ravens took that to heart this offseason. Ahead of his first year with the Ravens, Fluker is making sure he has ‘sweet feet' for the upcoming season.

“Got to have sweet feet to play offensive line,” Fluker said, via the team's official site. “Being lighter, being leaner, being more explosive, that does help.”

Similar to most offensive linemen, Fluker is a large human being, weighing in at around 358 pounds when he played with the Seattle Seahawks from 2018-2019. However, the veteran guard worked tirelessly to get into better shape for the 2020 campaign.

According to Clifton Brown of the team's official site, Fluker cut his body fat in half from 44 percent to 22 percent this offseason. At the same time, he went from being 358 pounds a season ago to 348 pounds — but with a bit more muscle to his frame.

Entering training camp, Fluker is expected to compete for the starting job at right guard for the Ravens. Of course, that position was held by Marshal Yanda for 13 seasons, who retired earlier this offseason.

Besides Fluker, Ben Powers and rookie Ben Bredeson will also be competing for the starting gig at right guard. With that being said, Fluker's experience could give him the edge over the others in training camp. Plus, his decision to lose weight could pay dividends as he hopes to be a key contributor to Baltimore's Super Bowl aspirations in 2020.
