Why The Orioles Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Orioles are seventh in the majors in runs scored, while sitting 15th in batting average, 24th in on-base percentage, and second in slugging.  Gunnar Henderson has been great this year. Adley Rutschman is also being highly productive. He is hitting .300 on the year with a .338 on-base percentage. Rutschman has ten home runs this year and 35 RBIs. The Orioles are fifth in team ERA while sitting third in WHIP and second in opponent batting average. It will be Grayson Rodriguez on the mound for the Oriole in this one. He is 5-1 with a 3.20 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. He has been great as of late. In the last three starts for Rodriguez, he has allowed just two runs over 16.2 innings of work.

Final Red Sox-Orioles Prediction & Pick

The Red Sox have relied on great pitching to have success this year. The Orioles have had better pitching overall. Combined with their offense, this is a bad match-up for the Red Sox in this one. The only hope for the Red Sox is their prior success against Grayson Rodriguez. Most of that came early in Rodriguez's career though and he is a much better pitcher now. Take the Orioles in this one.
