The Washington Redskins aren't exactly favorites to win the NFC East. They have a lot of up-and-coming talent, but also have some holes in the secondary and at wide receiver.

However according to Jordan Dajani of 247Sports.com, that's not stopping Nate Burleson from believing in them.

In Burleson's defense, the Washington Redskins have a lot going for them. If Dwayne Haskins is indeed their starting quarterback right away, he brings a lot of excitement to the table. The offense will also benefit from the additions of Derrius Guice at running back and Terry McLaurin at wide receiver.

On the defensive side of the ball, Montez Sweat makes an already lethal front seven even more dangerous.

The NFC East presents a tough challenge for the Redskins. All four teams now have young quarterbacks who have shown loads of potential. Dak Prescott has proven he can be the leader of a playoff team and Carson Wentz is a legitimate MVP candidate when healthy.

If the Redskins can keep injuries at bay though (something they've had major problems with the past few years), there's no reason to believe they can't compete.

Burleson even made a point to say he's not that far off from actually crowning them NFC East champions.

It's important to note that as of right now, Burleson isn't saying they'll definitely win. He's just pointing out that they have a realistic chance to compete in the division.

It's easy to doubt the Redskins. Last year was pretty disastrous and the finish was especially painful. There's a lot to be excited about with this team heading into 2019 though. Nate Burleson seems to recognize that.

Now the only question is, will they prove him right, or will he be eating his words by Week 10?
