The Seattle Seahawks received some great news heading into their Week 10 matchup at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers. Russell Wilson was able to get cleared before the game and played against Aaron Rodgers in an elite matchup. Fans will always jump at the chance to watch Wilson and Rodgers go at it.

Unfortunately for the Seahawks, the return of Wilson did not make much of a difference. Seattle ended up not scoring a single point and fell to the Packers by a final score of 17-0.

Through the first three quarters of the game, the Seahawks were trailing Green Bay by a score of 3-0. It was an ugly game for both teams on the offensive side of the football. However, in the fourth quarter, Rodgers and second-year running back AJ Dillon took over, and the Green Bay defense continued dominating to power the Packers to a 14-0 quarter.

With the loss, the Seahawks fell to 3-6 on the season. On the other side of the field, the Packers moved to an impressive and NFC-leading 8-2 record. These two teams are on the opposite side of the spectrum when it comes to playoff contention.

All of that being said, let's dive in and take a look at four takeaways for the Seahawks from their deflating loss against the Packers.

Seattle Seahawks Week 10 loss to Packers

4. The Seahawks Need RB Chris Carson Back From Injury

Ahead of this game against the Packers, there was some hope that Carson would be able to play. He has been recovering from a neck injury and simply wasn't quite ready to play this week. Carson is needed for the Seahawks' offense play to its full potential.

Without Carson on the field, the Seahawks struggled to run the football. By the end of the game, Seattle picked up just 75 yards on 16 carries. They averaged 4.7 yards per carry, but they did not pose the kind of threat they would have with Carson on the field.

Hopefully, he will be able to make his return for the Seahawks next week when they take on the Arizona Cardinals at home. They certainly need Carson back, and it seems likely that he is very close to a return.

3. Green Bay Is Still The Super Bowl Favorite In The NFC

This was a major test for the Seahawks to find out just how serious of a contender they are in the NFC. Not being able to put up a single point against the Packers made one thing very clear to Seattle and the rest of the NFL: Green Bay is still the favorite to end up winning the NFC.

With their 17-0 win over the Seahawks, the Packers moved back into first place in the hotly contested conference. Even with the injuries they have sustained this season, Green Bay just continues to win.

Seattle also showed that it is not terribly far away from competing with the Packers. The Seahawks are still more than capable of making a playoff run, but they are in danger of going the other direction as well.

2. Russell Wilson Is A Little Rusty, But No One Should Panic

As was expected, Wilson came into the game a little rusty after missing a lot of time due to a finger injury. He ended up completing 20 of his 40 pass attempts for 161 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. Wilson also picked up 32 yards on the ground.

Wilson looked rough, but there is absolutely no need for concern or panic in Seattle. No one should have expected Wilson to come back and play like an MVP. This was always the most likely outcome for this game.

Despite the rustiness that Wilson exhibited, a full week of practice should get him much more ready to take on the Cardinals. Coming back for such a tough game was a tall task for Wilson. Even though he didn't play at an elite level, Wilson being back will help the Seahawks turn things around moving forward.

1. Seattle Is Already In Danger Of Falling Out Of Playoff Contention

Due to the loss, the Seahawks are without a doubt in an interesting situation. They are 3-6 in a stacked NFC and are in danger of falling out of the playoff picture if they don't turn things around immediately.

Looking ahead at their upcoming schedule, the Seahawks have a tough road to travel. They will take on the Cardinals at home next week, and then will have to face the Washington Football Team on the road, the San Francisco 49ers at home, the Houston Texans on the road, the Los Angeles Rams on the road, the Chicago Bears at home, the Detroit Lions at home, and then the Cardinals on the road to end the season.

It will be an uphill battle for the Seahawks to win enough of those games to work their way back into the postseason. However, they have the necessary talent level to make it happen. Seattle will need to get healthy and stay healthy and will need Wilson to bounce back strong for the remainder of the season.
