The Seattle Seahawks made one of the biggest moves during the NFL's offseason by trading future Hall of Fame QB Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. The Seahawks got a quarterback in return in Drew Lock. But he has not been viewed as a viable starter in this league. That left conjecture as to whether or not Seattle would make another trade to acquire someone.

After news surfaced that the Cleveland Browns and Baker Mayfield were on the outs, the rumor mill started. It was reported by multiple news outlets that the Seahawks were interested in Mayfield. Well, as it turns out, that was overblown.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport appeared on The Pat McAfee Show. During his interview, he was asked if it was a foregone conclusion that Mayfield would end up in Seattle. Rapoport shut that down real quick.

“There's a couple times a year where this happens where you get an internet rumor that kind of takes on a life of its own… I always check and I have heard nothing corroborating Baker to the Seahawks at all… I don't know what's going to happen at the end of all of this… it seems crazy to me but they have never really been that interested in Baker,” Rapoport said.

The Seahawks have expressed their desire for Geno Smith and Lock to battle it out in camp. Considering Seattle is staring a last-place finish in the NFC West next season, a minimal upgrade at quarterback at the cost of draft assets or whatever it would take would not make much sense.
