Seattle Seahawks tight end Greg Olsen has been in the league long enough to encounter two generations of the Metcalf clan. The 14-year veteran was teammates with offensive lineman Terrence Metcalf on the Chicago Bears back in 2007-2008. 12 years later, Olsen will be lining up together with the younger DK Metcalf on the Seattle Seahawks in the upcoming season.

“Every time someone brings it up, it just reminds me that I’m not a spring chicken anymore,” Olsen told NFL Media. “I’ve been doing this a long time.

“I got to catch up with DK’s dad, Terrence, just a couple weeks ago. DK and I ran some routes before we started back up and his dad was in town, and we got to visit and spend some time. . . . It’s a pretty cool thing. I take some pride in it, knowing that it’s not easy to stick around in this league a long time, but it’s definitely a reminder that sometimes it’s hard keeping up with these young guys.”

Olsen started his career with the Bears and stayed in the Windy City for four seasons. He went on to have his biggest break with the Carolina Panthers from 2011 to 2019. His nine-year tenure saw him bag two-straight second-team All-Pro selections and three-straight Pro Bowl appearances.

He's still been able to tally respectable numbers by recording 52 receptions for 597 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns last season. The former Miami Hurricane is not showing any signs of slowing down as he is set to enter in his 14th season in the league.

At age 35, Greg Olsen aims to replicate the same success he saw during his time with the Panthers, this time with the Seahawks.
