The Seattle Seahawks suffered a tough defeat at the hands of the New York Giants on Sunday, in what turned out to be a disappointing outing for the Seahawks. Seattle cornerback Shaquill Griffin himself was left frustrated by the defeat, and the 25-year-old was not shy about making his feelings known about the loss.

According to Griffin, he is adamant that the Seahawks were not in a position to give up that loss to the Giants:

“That team was not supposed to beat us. Let’s be totally honest,” Griffin said of the 17-12 loss on Sunday, via Curtis Crabtree of NBC Sports. “They were not supposed to win that game, and we have to live with that. That’s the taste in our mouth that no one ever wants. That’s the part that you can’t go on with. We don’t want that feeling anymore.”

Griffin did not mince words here, as he expressed what he truly thought about his team's surprising defeat against the 5-7 Giants. Then again, Griffin also made it clear that in his mind, there's nobody else to blame for the loss but themselves:

“We let that game get the best of us. We came in taking the team lightly, just being totally honest,” the Seahawks talent added. “In this league, you can lose to anybody if you don’t play right. I feel like we took that game lightly, and our focus point now is just refocusing – treating every team the same, like a championship game that we preach about. We’ve just got to live by it.”

Sunday's loss to New York snapped Seattle's two-game winning streak, as they now stand at 8-4 on the season. They get another NY side in the New York Jets in Week 14, and while Griffin and Co. are fully expected to win that one, they probably should take a more prudent this time around.
