Colin Kaepernick is still working tirelessly for a chance to play in the NFL again. It's been six years since he last took a snap, but he hasn't given up the dream of getting the call. Last week, Kap did some workouts in the Seattle area with Seahawks receivers Tyler Lockett and Aaron Fuller, with Pete Carroll even teasing the idea of potentially signing Kaepernick to a deal.

However, on Tuesday, Carroll spoke to reporters and revealed that negotiations with Kap's representatives haven't developed at all, essentially shutting the door on the possibility.

Via Brady Henderson:

The Seahawks could use another signal-caller in their quarterback room after trading away Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. Drew Lock is expected to likely win the starting job right now, but Pete Carroll made it clear that Seattle is still in the mix for another quarterback.

Baker Mayfield's name instantly comes to mind. A QB who has proven himself in this league and could come in and immediately start. Kaepernick is looking extremely good in his workouts, but it still feels like no NFL team is really willing to give him another chance, which is sad.

Kap is clearly capable of contributing, but it appears it probably won't happen with the Seahawks. Based on Carroll's comments though, the quarterback movement for Seattle is far from over.
