The Seattle Seahawks will be playing the New Orleans Saints without one of their more promising young players. Rashaad Penny is most likely not going to be in uniform when the game kicks off at CenturyLink Field.

Adam Schefter confirmed the news that will disappoint Seahawks fans who are anxious about his condition ahead of the game.

While it's good that the hamstring injury he sustained earlier in the week is not serious, it's disappointing that their second-choice running back won't be able to play on the field.

He was quite productive during their close win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was able to produce 62 rushing yards out of ten rushing attempts, capping it off with a touchdown. He's on pace to exceed his rookie numbers if he manages to play for the rest of the season.

However, his absence shouldn't reduce the Seahawks' chances of winning against the Saints. There are a couple of reasons why the fans should look forward to this game.

One such reason is Russell Wilson. He finished the game against the Steelers with 300 passing yards and 3 passing TDs on an impressive 82.26% completion rate. It's not odd to expect more of the same from him here.

Another player the Seahawks can look forward to is D.K. Metcalf. The rookie receiver out of Mississippi is having a respectable season, notching 150 receiving yards and a touchdown on only seven receptions. He's the kind of wideout that head coach Pete Carroll loves to have on his team.

Finally, Carroll has motivated the team to perform well in big-game moments. Players have bought into his system, and that showed in their win against the Steelers.

It's a good move for the Seahawks to save Penny. After all, they have a high chance of winning this game even without him on the roster.
