After being the second player of the game to be carted off the field in Thursday night's game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers, cornerback Avonte Maddox is in the NFL community's prayers, and specifically Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson's.

Sustaining the injury on a hit from his own teammate, safety Andrew Cendejo, Maddox was laid out on the field for several minutes. On a big second and 10 and needing a score late in the game, Aaron Rodgers was able to squeeze the ball in to his tight end Robert Tonyan, but as he caught the ball he ducked. leaving two Philadelphia defenders on a collision course – and Maddox taking the brunt of the hit.

As the brutal game came to an end with the Eagles being able to pick off Rodgers only two plays later, his first interception thrown this season, the 34-27 win comes secondary to Maddox's health.

With an already banged up Eagles secondary, losing Maddox for an unknown amount of time could be very damaging to Philadelphia going forward. Ronald Darby did not suit up for Thursday's game due to a hamstring injury and his status will be up in the air going forward.

The Eagles were able to pull out a big victory to even up their record at 2-2 as they will have a long week to recover. We all hope that Maddox is going to be okay and is able to make a return to the field sometime this season.
