Selena Gomez is sporting a new bandage on her hand. In a recent radio appearance, the “Only Murders in the Building” actress revealed how this incident occurred.

“I wish I had, like, a really cool story that I saved someone’s life or something, she told the Ellen K Morning Show. “I was in a long dress — it was a summer dress — and I was walking from my car to my house and tripped.”

The host asked if the “Single Soon” singer broke any of her teeth, but she was happy to tell her that she thankfully has a full smile.

“I guess there is a silver lining, but this is not fun,” Gomez responded.

While Gomez is recovering from a broken hand, the singer has something to celebrate which is her latest song “Single Soon.” The song is the lead single to her forthcoming album solo studio album.

“There's not one sad song on my album — and I don't mean that in a way, like, everything is not full of meaning because I think even the most poppy songs can have heart,” she explained later in the interview. “I want that to come across, but I genuinely don't feel like I have anything in me to write something negative. It just doesn't match with where I am anymore.”

Gomez added, “I live in Sad Girl music world. I love that, and I'll write that music all the time, but I just felt like this album shouldn't be that.”

Gomez's last studio album was “Rare” which was released in 2020. It spawned one of her greatest songs, “Lose You to Love Me.”
