Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons has been an NBA star ever since he entered the league. At 6-foot-9 with elite inside scoring and top tier passing skills, the 76er is one of the most versatile players in the NBA.
With that being said, Simmons' biggest weakness has always been his jump shot. When he moves outside the paint, the point forward becomes much less effective.
Simmons has reportedly been working on his jump shot in the offseason and that hard work finally paid off as Simmons hit his first career three pointer earlier this month in a win against the New York Knicks.
According to Bucks County Courier Times sports columnist Tom Moore, 76ers head coach Brett Brown wants Simmons to attempt more jumpers.
Prior to his make against the Knicks, Simmons was 0-17 in the first 171 games of his Sixers career. In 22 career playoff games, Simmons had only attempted one three — and missed. So far this season, Simmons has attempted two three-pointers
For his career, Simmons is shooting an impressive 70.6 percent within 0-3 feet from the basket. When you move back to shots between 10-16 feet from the basket, that percentage drops to 30.6 percent.
Brown also added that he doesn't think that Simmons needs to be much more aggressive when fellow Sixers star Joel Embiid faces double teams.
