Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey took a stand for his players on Saturday. Morey replied to Clippers head coach Ty Lue's controversial comments regarding James Harden and Joel Embiid. Lue recently proclaimed that Embiid and Harden would not be in the top 10 in scoring if their free throw numbers were taken away. Morey responded on Twitter to his claim by calling out Lue's Clippers.

“@LAClippers offense would rank 30th without free throws”

He continued by stating facts of the game.

“Say it with me again – players are fouled because because the other team cannot stop them…”

Regardless of your opinion on the matter, it is cool to see Morey sticking up for his guys.

Joel Embiid is currently one of the favorites to win the MVP award while Harden has enjoyed a strong season as well. The duo have led the 76ers to an impressive campaign, as they find themselves near the top of the Eastern Conference standings with the season winding down. They will have a legitimate shot to make a deep postseason run with Embiid and Harden leading the charge.

Meanwhile, Ty Lue's Clippers are under .500 and looking to clinch a spot in the play-in game. However, they have been without Kawhi Leonard for the entirety of the season and Paul George for most of the season.

The Sixers most recently dominated the Clippers in LA. Philadelphia won the game 122-97 with Harden scoring 29 points and Embiid scoring 27 points. James Harden went 11-11 from the free throw line while Joel Embiid hit 7 of his 8 attempts from the line.
