In Philadelphia 76ers rookie point guard Markelle Fultz's third game back since finally returning from his shoulder injury, he managed to make a very impressive highlight play that will definitely have Philly buzzing.
With the Sixers up 30-29 on the Hawks during the second quarter, Fultz stole the ball from Atlanta power forward and fellow rookie John Collins and rushed down the court. Taking off from just about the free throw line, Fultz threw down a ferocious two-handed dunk on Hawks guard Damion Lee.
Lee, who is the fiancé of Sydel Curry (sister of Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry) after the two got engaged back in November, tried his very best to get back on defense and make a play but simply ended up on the wrong end of a highlight play.
A video of the dunk, which was posted to Twitter by the NBA's official account, can be viewed below in all of its glory.
In only six minutes of action in the first half against the Hawks, Fultz had four points on 2-of-4 shooting from the field. Despite the Sixers' 47-41 lead at the half, their 3-point shooting was atrocious in the first two quarters as the team went 2-of-19 from behind the arc. However, the Hawks weren't much better and shot just 2-of-17 from three-point range as a team.
The Sixers are playing in their first game without the services of star center Joel Embiid, who suffered a concussion and an orbital fracture on his left eye that will require surgery.
