Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese is excited to add another chapter to her friendly rivalry with Caitlin Clark. The Sky and Clark's Indiana Fever are tangling Saturday, in one of the most anticipated games of the WNBA season.

When asked about her rivalry with Clark, Reese gave a very sincere and professional answer.

“I think all of the rookies have done a great job, being able to elevate and go to the next level, allow us to translate,” Reese said, per ESPN. “I think we have all done a great job, especially me and Caitlin.”

Reese is marking the occasion by wearing a very special shoe. The Sky's young star is wearing Barbie-themed Reeboks for the game, that she helped design along with the shoe company.

Reese and Clark's rivalry

Reese and Clark have a very long playing history. The two famously met in the NCAA Women's College Basketball championship during the 2022-23 season, with Reese's LSU team coming out on top. This past season, the two teams met again in the NCAA tournament and Clark came out with the win for Iowa women's basketball. Iowa would go on to the national championship game, but lose to South Carolina.

The ladies are now set to meet for the first time in a WNBA game. The Sky are having a better season so far, with a 3-3 record. The team is fourth in the WNBA Eastern Conference. The Fever are struggling through a 1-8 season. Reese is averaging 11 points a game for the Sky, while Clark is pouring in just under 18 a contest for Indiana. Both players will undoubtedly be in the running for the WNBA Rookie of the Year award.

Reese and Clark are also spreading their brands far beyond the world of basketball. Reese is heavily involved in developing her own shoe brand with Reebok, while Clark has signed multiple endorsement deals and also appeared on the TV show Saturday Night Live.

Reese is the fourth-leading scorer for her Sky team, heading into Saturday's game. The rookie is averaging close to a double-double, grabbing 8 rebounds a contest to go with her point total. Reese says she's learning a lot very quickly about the WNBA, after six games of play with her team.

“You can't take a play off, these vets, they are really really good,” Reese added. “Everybody is really good in this league.”

The Sky and Fever are playing at time of writing. The Sky are also getting some additional good news Saturday, as Kamilla Cardoso is expected to make her debut for the team. Cardoso is the third overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Reese was the seventh overall pick, while Clark went first overall.

WNBA fans everywhere are very excited to see how the latest chapter ends in the Clark-Reese rivalry.
