As the 2022 WNBA season begins, all eyes will be on the Chicago Sky. The reigning champions reached the mountain top with Candace Parker in her first-ever season with them. Several other squads are gearing up to take them down.

On the eve of the season's beginning, Parker quietly broke some massive news. She said that she is operating this current WNBA season as if it will be her last. The six-time All-Star didn't outright say that she will be calling it quits but did say that she has been thinking about it.

In the interview with Kristen Ledlow, Parker said that she could play in the WNBA for another handful of seasons and that being close to her family helps. However, the Sky star did say that her conditioning is fading, especially because she is so busy as an NBA analyst for TNT broadcasts. This could play a major role in her decision for her playing future.

With the Los Angeles Sparks, Parker established herself as one of the best players in the WNBA. She led them to the 2016 championship and won the MVP award in 2008 and 2013. After her massively successful career with Los Angeles, Parker returned to her hometown and led the Sky to their first-ever championship.

Candace Parker walking away from the game would be a massive loss for the WNBA. The 36-year-old is one of the league's brightest stars even as she continues to play past her prime. For now, though, she will be looking to repeat with the Sky.
