Rumors are circulating around Philippe Coutinho's future once more as it appears that Barcelona is ready to part ways with the Brazillian midfielder.

Philippe Coutinho departed from Liverpool back in 2017 to join the Catalan giants with a whopping $208 million transfer fee on a 5-year contract. However, Coutinho has failed to live up to his monstrous price tag.

Barcelona has already offloaded Coutinho before where he spent an entire season with German giants Bayern Munich, even scoring 2 goals in the 8-2 thrashing of Barca in the 2019-20 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

With his rejuvenated form that season, Barcelona fans were hoping his performances would carry over once he returned to Camp Nou—but his role did not change one bit. Whether it was during Ernesto Valverde or Ronald Koeman's stint—which was plagued with a serious injury— Coutinho saw the majority of his time on the bench.

That still hasn't changed despite Koeman's departure from the club. 2 matches after Koeman's exit, interim manager Sergi Barjuan has yet to play the Brazilian midfielder, and it looks like the trend will continue heading into the next few matches. Moreover, according to Sport, Barca will look to part ways with Coutinho in the January transfer window amid struggles on and off the pitch.

It is difficult to see if things will change for Coutinho when Barca legend Xavi Hernandez arrives at the club, but whether it be through loan, sale, or even more playing time, both he and the club seek to sort out this situation as soon as possible.
