San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has shared his two cents worth on the possibility of soon having a female head coach in the NBA. For the legendary shot-caller, one's gender does not and should make any difference in terms of one's potential to fulfill a role.

“There's no difference between a woman who knows the game and a man who knows the game,” Popovich said, via NBA insider Howard Fendrich. “It's just another prejudice that probably has to be overcome. …”

This is definitely one of the best responses we've heard on the subject, and it's not surprising that it has come from such an esteemed figure in Popovich. Instead of building up the NBA's effort to promote gender equality within the league, coach Pop has instead opted to play this down, and focus on the fact that at the end of the day, this actually should not matter anymore.

If anything, Popovich could have even bragged about how the Spurs have shown absolutely no gender bias in the rise of current team assistant coach Becky Hammon within their organization. After all, she is one of the front-runners to be the first ever female head coach in the league. Then again, boasting off is just not Popovich's style.

Coach Pop definitely makes an excellent case here. In his genius mind, one of the best ways to eliminate gender bias is by discrediting it, which can be done by simply not talking about it.
