After suffering an ankle injury in Game 5 of their second round playoff series against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, the San Antonio Spurs are officially listing Kawhi Leonard as questionable to play in their next match.

The development comes even after the 25-year-old San Diego State product claimed that he will be able to play on Thursday. He also admitted that an x-ray was done as soon as he headed to their locker room to check for any structural damage on his ankle. Although he did not share its results, many believed it was just precautionary, especially with him saying he can suit up in their next outing.

Leonard suffered the injury early in the fourth quarter when he accidentally stepped on the foot of James Harden, while about to run to their side of the court for a fastbreak. Head coach Gregg Popovich then decided to sit him out in the final minutes of regulation and the entire overtime period as it was seemed “obvious” that he couldn't play through it.

Should The Klaw be forced to miss Game 6, Jonathon Simmons, Danny Green, and even Kyle Anderson could see an uptick in their minutes as they try to fill in the huge void left by their franchise player.
