Practically no one envisioned the Pittsburgh Steelers would make the playoffs out of the AFC. The Steelers needed a miracle to clinch a playoff berth on Sunday, and courtesy of losses from the Chargers and Colts, fans in Pittsburgh got their wish. Well ahead of the Wild Card matchup against the Chiefs, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was addressing the media. His comments may not sit so well with Steelers fans, however, as Roethlisberger said the Steelers have “no chance” at beating the Chiefs on Saturday.

“I would assume, as a group, you understand, that, you know, we probably aren't supposed to be here. We're probably not a very good football team. Out of the 14 teams [I think] that are in, we're probably No. 14. We're double-digit underdogs in the playoffs, so, let's just go play, have fun, and see what happens,” said Roethlisberger. “Yeah, I mean we're probably 20-point underdogs… going up against arguably the best team in football. We don't have a chance. So, let's just go out there and have fun.”

While there's definitely some level of truth to Roethlisberger's statement, his brutal honesty ahead of the matchup isn't at all encouraging for Steelers fans hopeful for an upset. Roethlisberger blatantly admitted that he thinks the Steelers don't even have a chance against the Chiefs, and are the worst of the 14 teams in the playoffs.

Some may appreciate the veteran quarterback's honesty ahead of what could very well be the final game of his NFL career, but others will likely find his comments worrying. His lack of faith in the Steelers doesn't bode well for a team that will need to be at its best to stage an upset.

Clearly, Roethlisberger knows the odds are stacked against him for Sunday's showdown, and Big Ben isn't bothering trying to sugar coat things as the playoff matchup looms.
